Color Me Butterfly

A lot of things were going through my head when I finished reading Color Me Butterfly.

Abuse by the male sex was definitely present throughout the different generations and I cannot quit figure out why the women keep forgiving the men whom have scarred their lives. Especially after forgiving them so many times and praying that they will change in time. It made me realize how strange unconditional love can be!

Talk about having a rough family history. This generation of family has struggled a lot and it made my life look like a fairy tale. But in the end I knew that one of them would break the habit of abuse. Lydia was the one that has pulled through for them all. She got her Bachelors and made sure that her daughter, Treasure would continue to be a strong, mindful female just like she was.

I was amazed of how much hope and love the rest of the family gave to each other even through the many hellish obstacles that had to be jumped through. Talk about being optimistic-prayer and faith was on their side!

It also made me think of how greatful I should be for what I have rather than what I wish to have for their are others that wish to have what I have currently have which a is a strong, supportive, loving family!!
